  1. - Try to be home on time for breakfast!

Actually, this shouldn’t be a resolution that difficult to keep if it wasn’t for travel time. Experience has taught me that on 95% of the ponds once the morning sun is up over the horizon and its rays are both illuminating and warming the upper layers of water, I might as well pack up the fly rod and head for home. They just won’t be biting.

And you thought my resolution was going to start with “Pink Sky In Morning……..” LOL Those aren’t stars you see in this photo, just spray from one of the finest freshwater sport fish in the world…the rainbow trout. Please practice catch and release.

  • Thanks, Mike. The actual file was quite dark…passes right by it on several occasions. But a touch of lightening..voila! What a surprise! Happy New Year!

Another STUNNING capture, Brian! I wonder how many times you have photographed the exact same fish without knowing it.

  • I’m hoping none, but there are some that are always guarding certain areas that have distinct markings that I can recognize. Thanks for the fave, Dot. Happy New Year!
