I did this one last year using two photos I took. The first was an extraordinary shot of a rainbow trout that was trying to capture a mayfly that had just started to fly off the water surface after drying its wings. To be honest, that is what I was trying to photograph…the mayfly. I don’t know how many times I tried to get one of these mayflies in focus that eve, but surely 100’s. Never was able to get one in focus to the point that you would be able to identify it as a mayfly, but as you can see, I was pleasantly surprise once with a trout rising up out of the water. So I replaced the mayfly with a photo of a red admiral butterfly in flight…adds a little color :))
