A friend was in a town with that view for a wedding, startled to find she’d been sitting at the hotel window staring for over an hour, the mountain in constant change, not wanting to miss a thing. Beautiful photograph.

You really captured the feeling of being near Mt Rainer late in the summer. My guess is that it was taken sometime in late August or perhaps early September. Keep hiking and taking great pictures, It doesn’t get much better then that. Sometime when your on a hike in the mountains or anywhere else try shooting some pictures in the early morning or late afternoon to evening. The low angle of the sun will give you deep rich colors with depth in the shadows. These are good times to get real dramatic shots. Anyway have fun and keep up the good work.

Oh, my, what a gorgeous shot!! We were visiting Mt. Rainer last year, and looking at the brochure, these are the kinds of scenes I was hoping to see, but, alas, in May, it’s still all snow there! We DID get to see the top of the mountain, through all the fog, for about 5 mins., though! This is soooo beautiful!! I get to see it through YOUR eyes!!
