This old homestead is just one of the many old homes that are being restored. Rylstone can be found just west of the Great Dividing Range and sited on the Cudgegong River.
Access by the Mudgee /Lue/Ilford Road or the Sandy Hollow (Golden Highway) /Bylong Valley Way / Ilford Road.
Rylstone was first settled in the 1830s. Rylstone is one of the most picturesque towns in the region, and one of the oldest settlements west of the Great Dividing Range. It has retained its historic 19th Century character in its architecture
Rylstone was originally a centre for agriculture which began in the early 1800s. It’s still that centre but now offers all the services the local community and the visitor would expect

Freelance Photographer from the western suburbs of Sydney NSW Australia. I loved to find old abandoned objects and building and out of the way places to photograph. I also have a love of the history of my surrounding suburbs, especially Parramatta as it was the first convict settlement of Australia.
