Jon D. Ayres’s Digital Art from Mysterious Russia
Since the country of Russia opened her borders in the late 90’s, St. Petersburg and Moscow have become two of the hottest tourists sites with 1000’s of tourists visiting each year. But even through many tourists come to Russia each year, they rarely see the true Russia, the true history, the true culture and meet the real people of Russia. I will post artwork of the major sites here of course, but my major concern will be sites rarely seen by tourists, sites all around western Russia, Moscow and her “Golden Ring Cities,” St. Petersburg, even Yalta. Hopefully my art work will help open some eyes to the historic and fascinating country called Russia. If there are any special photos or art work you especially interested in having of Western Russia, feel free to contact me and I will see what I can do.

I’m an American who has been living and working in Moscow, Russia for the last 5 years. I was just overwhelmed by all the lovely architecture, museums, churches, palaces and old mansions I saw here. I grew up during the cold war years and never heard about these things. (I’m a conservative who worked to get the best US president elected, Ronald Regan) I really enjoy photography and one of my favorite subjects to photography are the artists painting, street scenes, architecture and landscapes of Moscow and her surrounding “Golden Ring Cities.” I have learned that a lot of what I learned during the cold war years is just not true, Russia is truly an art lovers country, especially if your a photographer and Moscow is an “Art Lover’s” city, in no other city of the world (not even Paris) will you find as nice of art museums and scenes as lovely as here in Moscow. Two of the most famous art galleries, The State Tretyakov Gallery and The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts are located here. I am glad that I decided to come to Moscow, Russia to live and work, Moscow is truly the Art Lover’s capital.
