The Avenue of the Coconut Palm
Palm trees line many of the country roads in Puerto Rico. At the bottom of these palms you’ll see multiple coconuts lying on the ground waiting for the food cycle to overtake them and return them to the earth. Rarely do humans pick these up and enjoy their sweet fruits. A rabbit trail: God created palm trees differently than other trees so that they can withstand incredible hurricane winds. While other trees add rings going from the center outward, palm trees add discs in an upward growth. The discs allow the tree to bend to the ground in winds—an acrobatic maneuver that would snap other trees in half.
