F.Scott Heron
As some of you know.. my wife, Christine is very fond of one particular heron which lives at Sunset Lake in North Carolina. His given name is F.Scott Heron and there is an interesting story behind how he got his name..
Years ago at a party, my wife along with another neighbor, made up a story about this heron. They decided to name him F.Scott Heron. He is said to have the spirit of a man that once owned a local eatery F.Scott’s. A man of few words, he smiled at his patrons and went about his business. It is thought that he haunted the old building after his death until it was torn down. After which he took on the form of the heron. There is no truth to this~ but it was fun to give the bird a “story that explained his attitude.”
My wife is still trying to capture this bird in full flight, flying into a sunset. One day she will get him!

F.Scott Heron belongs to the following groups:

Super shot! I love the treatment of the shot- the flow of the water & the ice-
The two states of water
frozen and movingmake such a contrast. The ice shows that F.Scott is apparently so cold! This was the day it was 14 degrees out. He could have turned out to be a heron popsicle!Robert Boretti replied
Thank Honey- and it was great to be there with you! You crack me up!

A beautifully poetic picture.. A paradox of sorts as I feel both the calmness in the stillness of the Heron as well as the tenacity of the water which itself seems to be both ferocious in its movement with yet a sense calm with its fluidity. Very impressive Robert.
