The Succubus

A succubus is a female vampire who seduces her victims before she sucks their blood.

Big, fat, aromatic
candles, stakes
melt sweetly in our noses.

Hold hands with me.
The kite is in the clouds now;
you hold Franklin’s key.

Toss me my black, toss
the red and gold.
We can burst together.

I am an Apsara.
Letters of meaningless
burn, razed to smoke.

They linger in dust motes.
Braided string, we part
only after lightning.

Static waits for blood,
Ye and mou,
we mingle: rust, salt, none.

Lick the gashes, O my
Neosporin tongue,
Blades attached.

I shall bathe
in blue with Scarlett, see
the black breaths of your bones.
