Once upon a time I was trained as an engineer. Engineers are trained to be analytic, exact, precise, methodical, and concrete, and this is probably reflected in my photography. I have been trying to determine what style I work in. Abstract and Minimalism came to mind, but they just did not seem to fit well; some of what I do I think is rather abstract, but much of it would not qualify. I finally concluded that what I do is Extractive Reductionism. That is, I tend to look at those things we all see every day, extract parts of them, and then reduce the complexity down to simple color and line. At least that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
