Alnwick Castle
Alnwick Castle is the second largest inhabited castle in England, and has been the home of the Percys, Earls and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309, making this year the 700 year anniversary.
It’s also the set of many big hollywood films sucha as Harry Potter and Robin Hood!
It’s an amazing place and the gardens are superb!
I wanted a good shot of the castle and grounds and after wondering about for hours was amazed to realise that I had to go right to the other side of town to get this viewpoint! Thats how big this place is!

Very impressive castle and image!! great work, and even better for being reflected in water.
Paul McGuire replied
Thank you so much!
Appel
Beautiful! and you captured the reflection too!
Paul McGuire replied
Thank you so much. In an ideal world I would have prefferred the water to be stiller to give sharper reflection. Maybe next time!

Hello Paul, great image. I love the natural setting, particularly the reflections in the water. Well done on perservering for the ultimate shot. It certainly was worth it. Thanks so much for being the first to enter my challenge.
Paul McGuire replied
Thank you very much. It was a little frustrating because of the conditions. The wind kept blowing ripples in the water and ruining the reflection. I’m glad this one came out ok though! Thanks again -Paul
