This old fire boat mast and water canon has been re used as a feature in a traffic island close to the Liver Building in Liverpool on Liverpool Docks. Very fitting tribute to all Firemen everywhere I thought, but especially here in Liverpool where they suffered more than most in the blitz of the second world war.

To me the structure remembers the historic and valiant past of the fireboat’s and their crews without dewling on it, sited in this part of Liverpool with the regeneration going on all around it, again seem fitting to me, as if it is saying Life will go on no matter what.
