One eye shut. by

Textured and colorful.
Acrylic on canvas.
Abstract self portrait of the artist.
This is a portrait only in the sense that I am exploring how I feel about my art.
The hands are raised because they are the artists tools, one eye is open, drawing the attention of the viewer, demanding contemplation, the other is shut effectively shutting out the world.
The inside out quality suggests the way I feel at times exhibiting works. It can be a bit unsettling opening yourself up to peoples judgement.
Giving people the opportunity to look briefly inside your own private universe.

Exhibited at Riverside Cafe, Motueka, NZ- 2009-2010

and

“Art for arts sake” solo exhibition. Cloudy Skies Gallery, Blenheim, NZ 2010.

This is a personal favorite.
Please feel free to leave constructive criticism, I am always interested in peoples opinions.
