I migrated to Australia from the Nederlands with my mum & brother and arrived in Melbourne in 1969.
I married in 1984 and with my husband travelled here to Perth and this is where we parted our ways.
In 1991, after being on dialysis I was very lucky to receive an anonymous donor kidney transplant and so began a new beginning. I attended TAFE and studied small business apparel, human services, and graphic design; after TAFE I began working in the Aged Care Industry.
In 2001, I was diagnosed with depression and was referred to the Creative Expression Unit at Graylands Mental Health Campus. It is here that I experimented with various different art materials, such as, china painting, gouache, textiles, jewellery, ceramics, and photography.
In 2005, I was diagnosed with breast cancer; underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. Today the cancer is in remission.
I have developed a love for photography; and have joined a local photography club where I am a committee member and continue to exhibit locally and state wide.
