We recently heard about a great initiative called the Pop Up Patch at Federation Square in Melbourne. This is basically a green oasis for people to grow their own produce in the middle of the city. They run free Scarecrow-making workshops, so we took the kids along to stuff some straw.
I love the idea that there’s a place in the city that people without their own garden space can use to grow their own veggies, and anyone can get advice on growing in their own garden.
There’s quite a mix of people using the space, including individuals and companies. Whilst we were there, one of the kids actually pointed out that RedBubble has its own crate, and so I obviously had to take a piccy. Well done to the RB gardeners! :)
