Those Subtle Emanations Of Perfume by

Hi, everyone!!!
This time I wanted to capture a graphic record of the processes I followed in order to create this image, as well as the many ways that I did not follow along in this process. This is part of Sojie 14 workshop.
OK I started working on the translation of The Scent of Love, origins by artist LilyNoelle

This was my first WIP
The Scent of Love, origins WIP no. 1

I love how the artist transformed the original image into a message of love. But I’d like to return to the image she took as a reference _ which is also a tribute to love but from a somewhat macabre perspective.

Later, I found myself in a sort of dead end. I tried several versions, trying to incorporate the “perfumist”. These are some of the images I created _ they are mere WIPs, too. At the end I discarded all of them.

For some reason I didn’t want the main figure to be lying initially. But finally I found this was the best way of representing it. I’ve been thinking of quitting from the macabre aspect of it; now I’m more inclined to follow LilyNoelle’s point of view, that is, to represent a poem of love, life and death.
So I decided to keep the visual style of the following image. This is a B/W version, final image will be full color.

Danillo, I’m totally taken with this beautiful image and could stare at it for hours. I even loved it in its uncolored stage. But with the color, you’ve brought out the water’s reflection, as well as the steam. It’s really superb. And I like your ideas behind the translation, too. Congratulations!

  • Oh, Frannie! I am truly happy to know that you liked this image, and it is an honor for me that you’ve dedicated a part of your time to comment here. I am very excited about these workshops, they are really an incredible source of inspiration and learning for all of us. Thanks from the heart!
