Sojie 13, the workshop/event organized by the Solo Team from the Solo Exhibition Group, has announced its awards.
Several artists were honored for their work. I was one of them.
But I am convinced that all participants have won things in one way or another. Me…, I feel more than rewarded by the simple fact of having been allowed to participate; also by the fact that other prominent artists had allowed me to translate their works.
I gained a lot by observing the work of others, the healthy interaction between artists, the various stages of their respective translations, the failures and disappointments in not getting what is wanted. But above all the joy of the new works of art that arise from these collaborations.
And I think it is invaluable the contribution provided by these events from the point of view of inspiration .
Inspiration to grow, to innovate, to move forward.
So, as I believe that all participants have won, I’d like to share my awards with all of you. With the SoloTeam, with the judges, with the artists who allowed me to translate their works, with all my fellow artists.

Dreaming Of Popsicles
Also I had the audacity _ and the gall _ to try to translate one of the most enigmatic and seductive works from F.A. Moore (Frannie) _ nothing less than the creator and engine of both the Solo Exhibition Group and the Sojies.

It was a risky venture, not only because I was experimenting with new concepts and textures but because I set myself a very personal vision, a very different approach to the original image. I hope I haven’t disappointed too much to our dear Frannie.

Danilo, I don’t think you could disappoint if you tried. You’re a genius, in my book, from everything I’ve seen since becoming active in the RedBubble community. ArtPearl said it so well, just above. You raised the bar for excellence in both creative thinking and skill. I loved following each work -in-progress post. You gave us more than pictures; you actually explained your thought process (and trials and changes). Even though the judges were not involved and didn’t follow the workshop, they obviously felt what those of us participating did – that they were witnessing a masterpiece. I learned a lot from your translation of Popsicle Dreams and am honored that you translated it and were awarded for it. Tickled pink, dare I say? And your interpretation of …Seige will remain a constant inspiration, I believe, for many workshops to come. Congratulations, Danilo, and your incredible body of art, and these works and awards.
