Wow Danilo, this is so exquisite and beautiful! Love the title too. Very impressed.

A great image, grounded in a very nice inspiration and concept ! The surroundings are very stark, focusing the viewers attention on the couple making love [ or almost ! ] as if to say love is more important for happiness than any of their material possessions.
Susan Trigg
Lovely! My interpretation of this is that the relationship, the life together, and the path to it, is under dust-covers, abandoned. But you’ve left the living tree there, and someone must be watering it? So, it is not totally forgotten, and maybe someone visits there to remember what was. Maybe in the summer they will come back and pull off the covers…
F.A. Moore
I think these are mannequins who come to life, or have a life beyond our own reality. Now that everyone is gone, they can live their own dream and love. Metaphorically, it brings to mind that there are relationships (of some kind, that we might even remotely recognize) occurring in everything in nature, including man-made objects.

The Poisonwood Bible is the first thing I thought of, when I saw this…

Very haunting. Everything is covered up, including the couple…..the tree represents to me that life is waiting in a way…..as is this room and the couple….I thought of when we put dust covers on things and walk away …. maybe to another life but are protecting something of value which we intend to come back too…...

Now this is fantastic..the contrast with the green tree and the stark background is sublime. I like how you are drawn into the picture and slowly focuss on the characters. This is very haunting!!

god i’m in love with this image…. relationships never really end… when two souls make a connection… something new is always generated.. an energy..a life spirit that always remains.. no matter how hard we might try to cover it up and forget it….. a presence ..a reminder always lingers….. everything about this image haunts me.. but it radiates a feeling of hope.. that nothing we do is in vain…... bravo my friend…........ b

I think Butch has the truth of it and agree that the image is haunting indeed, that relationships even those put away under dust covers at season’s end, leave the seeds of something else behind. It is not truly lost – or forgotten. A stunning and evocative image, beautifully symbolic.

This is a perfect illustration of a feeling I’ve had recently (again) of regret, people I have lost track of, friends, a few lovers, no way to get in touch, maybe that’s best after all this time, and a lot of that has passed by now… this evokes many memories for me, the djinn is out of the bottle but I have no wishes, just to dream
Dave Martsolf
Syd, gives the feeling I feel, too. This is a very powerful piece. For all it’s apparent simplicity it really tears a big hole in all of us, I believe. “The Persistence of Memory” is not an idle concept. As a life form we need it in order to survive long enough to reproduce (“Johnny, stop putting your hand in the fire!”). But, it’s unintended side effects (nostalgia) can really rip you apart.
Great work Danilo, and a deep understanding of the human condition which is as important as the artistic mode, if not more so.

Not only were memories draped and left behind, but also a part of life itself which will always live on in the dust, the corners and the very atmosphere!! :)
Extraordinary!! :)
