Yewa (A Study For The Orishas Collection)

(Please, view larger).
Yewa is the Orisha of Death. She is a Virgin Orisha. Her priestesses are past their prime and always celibate. She is associated with Saint Claire. Her color is pink. When she dances at funeral rites she covers her face with two horse tails. She is queen of the underworld. She represents the spiritual side of the Goddess, the inward-looking, mystical aspects of being.

This is basically a cinema 4D render; just a bit postwork to enhance the atmosphere.
(CINEMA 4D is a commercial, cross-platform, high-end 3-D graphics application, produced by MAXON Computer, Germany.)

    Mind blowing Danilo. Really!

PS: are you using any real image here (photograph, I mean)?

  • Danilo Lejardi replied

Hi, Vasile! Yes, I worked a lot on this image; actually, this is the third version of it. Finally, I wanted to achieve some sort of surrealistic feeling; to play around a bit with space and dimensions. Then I decided to create three 3D separated renders in order to integrate them in photoshop. It worked out as I intended except for the skies. So the only “real” image here is the background sky, which I created by blending a couple of photos. Thanks a lot for commenting.
