…one of the biggest days, so far, this year for the southerly migration of these amazing mammals, I was out for roughly 12hrs, give or take the odd diversion (to the pub for a quiet ale, a great viewpoint), and I saw over 35 whales come along the eastern shores of Seymour, Denison and Bicheno, heading home to Antarctica and cruising in the currents of governor island and our rocky coastline, which they seem to love….i’ve seen stuff this week i never would’ve believed, mostly whilst getting ready to shoot – or packing down – of course, the photographers rule of thumb….. but fortunately, managed quite a few captured, as well…gotta love Bicheno….
