….winter on the gippsland coast of victoria. very few tourists, and spectacular empty beaches – make for stunning late morning vistas such as this with sunrise happenning after 0715hrs. this morning there had been a high high tide with a good size swell coming off bass strait, which compacted the sand as it had hit the coastline, then as the tide went out it left vast sections of the beach covered in surface water, just as the sun came up. I’d been down there for a few weeks so was watching the tides and the sun cycles – this was just perfect with the low lying cloud and clear crsip winter sky. along this stretch of coastline lies the bunurong coastal park and marine park, where incredibly old dinosaur digs were discovered and the inland and coastal inlets, as well as philip island and wilsons promontory, make for stunning photography and peace and quiet…
