This was an image from last summer.
On this hot summer’s day, I was turning onto an entrance ramp of a major highway and saw this little guy at the side of the road. I then pulled my car off to the side of the road, put on my four ways and took some shots. The mother was no where in sight and I was suprised to see that this little one was foraging on grass. I wouldn’t be concerned with a fawn by itself as I know mother deer leave their fawns alone for extended periods at times. The fact that it was out foraging and not hiding in the brush made me think that this might be an orphan. A motorcycle a few minutes after I stopped ended up scaring this little one back into the woods. Let’s hope this one was just misbehaving rather than being an orphan and now is romping through some snowy woods with its mother.
