Predator of the Night (Ocelot) by

This was taken at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse NY.

There was very low light in this exhibit and you were not allowed to use flash photography in this area as well. The only light was a small reddish color heat lamp on the cat. For these two reasons, I decided B&W was the way to go with this paticular capture. I was very surprised at how well it turned out at 800 ISO. Plus I was proud that it was a very sharp image at 1/5s shutterspeed and being handheld. So as you can see, I was very pleased by the output here. :)

Taken through the exhibit’s glass window.

I really like the B&W…I find images that are a bit dark very appealing. Well done!

  • Thank you Sillyfrog!
