Melancholy
It took my a long time to title this photo. I like it so much I did not want to call it something negative. Unfortunately this was the best way I could discribe this caged cat.
Melencholy (n) 1. a gloomy state of mind, esp. when habitual or prolonged; depression.
Taken at Omaha’s Henry Dorly Zoo in Nebraska.

Poor thing.. great title and very fitting.. Mind you he could just be soaking up the sun on a positive note :))

Ya, maybe. He also made us happy to see him as well as many others I’m sure.

Awww-I hope it was just a passing moment-or he was just a bit tuckered? I wonder if these big cats get enough exercise in these little places, though. I hope it was a large enclosure and not a “cage”. Anyway-exceptionally nice capture.
Tim Wright replied
It did have some room to roam and I beleave they let it go outside as well.

Wonderful photo! I think the title only serves to make us think about the cat’s situation more, and that is more of a positive than a negative, isn’t it? Really great photo – I love it. :) :)

I recently was at the zoo .. and I am in awe with all the beautiful animals, and at the same time, feel so sorry for them.
This is such a beautiful photo; but filled with so much emotion.
