The pay per view at sunset point rest stop on the way from Phoenix to Prescott. For those of you wondering what you get for a quarter, and I know there are just tons and tons of you. For starters, you get the joy of putting 2 quarters in, swearing, then putting in another roughly $7.25, swearing some more, then bruising the bottom of your hand after smacking the crap out of the very stable structure. Then you hear the click, the little blocker thingy(I know, you’re saying “Bob, you must be some sort of an engineer with your readily available encyclopedic knowledge of all things viewfindery.” Actually I was just spit balling with the whole little blocker thingy, but it just seems right) go up, you press your eyes to the cup, then immediately back away, grab a nearby napkin, and wipe the unknown, rather viscous substance off the eye cups, swear some more, then Boom! Oh yeah! That’s what I’m talking about! What a freaking view! I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many finger prints so close up! And the possibly mac and cheese smudge was the cherry on top! By the time time my roughly 15 seconds of incredibly detailed rings and grooves and parts of some childs lunch were up, I only had one thought. If I was a crime scene technician, I would probably call in sick on the days that there were murders at random scenic viewfinder rest stops, you’d need a Costco Bulk Size industrial can of fingerprint dust just for the viewfinder alone. Not to mention about 8 bucks in quarters!
