I set up my tripod in the water, I was confidently balanced on the small rock shelf under the water you can see to the lower left in the shot. Everything is set up and ready to go. I decided to get the camera down just a little closer to the water. The rock shelf people had apparently deemed it unnecessary to install non-slip traction pads and BOOM, my underwear are no longer what you would call dry, and not just because my rear end was now under water. So there I am, camera attached to tripod, held high over my head, butt feeling more than a little damp, heart very happy that my camera bag with lenses are safe and dry on the boulders to my left, and the only thing I can think of is, “Oh, great, now I have to wait for the ripples to subside before I can shoot.” Photographers are idiots.
