So, for this one I started out just past my knees in the lake water. I have shot this particular scene many times and I wanted something at least slightly different, the clouds always provide a different look, but still. So I started walking. Eventually the bubbles started dribbling up from my boots, then the squish, then my ankles felt the bubbles, then my shins, then my knees, then my wallet, wait…if I’m feeling it there…oh crap… my Canon 75-300mm is in my lower leg pocket, granted I got it on craigslist for $65.00 and I’m unable to take my Sigma 10-20mm off my camera due to the fact that I’m in love with it, but still, I fetched the 75-300mm out of my waterlogged pocket, it looked fine, I moved my wallet and lens to the upper pockets and kept going. 3 steps later I remove my camera holster from around my waist and throw it over my shoulder, and keep going, 2 steps later I realize that I’m waaaaaaay toooo in love with light and all it glowy goodness, and how happy I am that my tripod is taller that me. 2 steps backward, plant tripod deep in lake bottom, peer through the viewfinder and realize that the really good light is gone! Shoot anyway, basically swim back to the shoreline and realize Arizona’s much cooler when you’re mostly wet.
