You know those times when you’re just bored with the blue skies, just waiting for some clouds to come along to have something interesting to frame a nice landscape shot against, so you decide to just stay in and have a nice night at home, maybe you’ll finally watch those shows that have been stacking up on your DVR that you haven’t watched since you started doing photography, so you start to watch and find your mind wandering around the living room looking for something you could shoot, maybe a nice still life, or something cool with a flashlight in the dark, and the next thing you know you’re not paying any attention to the series finale of The X Files(who is that new guy that looks like the guy from Terminator 2), and you’re rummaging around in your kids toy chest looking for something interesting and you grab the plastic eye ball right off the bat and then you see the 3D glasses from the latest Toy Story movie and the next thing you know you’re in the kitchen on a stool with the eyeball in your mouth and the glasses covering your eyes and your remote snapping away, and then you realize just how crazy this all seems, I mean what were you thinking, you can’t do an eyeball in the mouth with 3D glasses portrait without at least messing up your hair with a little mousse or something, and so you do that and start snapping away again, the whole time thinking “this has to be black and white and totally contrasted out to look kind of creepy, yet still rock and roll with a dash of punk thrown in”, and by the time you’re done it just looks like a Nick Nolte mug shot, but all contrasted out with an eyeball in his mouth?
Yeah, I have those nights too.
