Le Kinémax, would you believe, is a CINEMA! This incredibly futuristic building houses an IMAX screen and was designed by Denis Laming.

It is a giant crystal and quartz building symbolizing one of the ‘jewels’ of nature. It stands 30 metres high and is angled at 60 degrees. It consists of 3000 ‘plaques-miroirs’ and covers a surface area of 4 250 m². Housing an IMAX screen measuring 600 m² it seats 440 people.
It was constructed in 1987 and is located at Futuroscope, nr Poitiers, France. This image was shot in 2007.
