A sunrise view of the cracked surface of Death Valley, California, USA. This image is analogue shot long ago on slide film with my trusty AE-1 (much cheaper camera) and then I scanned it on my Nikon cool scanner. I am pleased that the quality is as high as anything I shoot today digitally on my more sophisticated equipment…go figure…

Well Bob, there is a lot to be said for film. If you can bear the stuffing around the results can be great, as this image shows. I assume you used some fill light in the foreground, but what I’m really enjoying is the glimpse of serrated mountains on the horizon. But I’m a bit miffed about you using my title <grin>
    Cheers!

  • Hi Robert…Thank you very much for you comments and compliment. I appreciate it very much. I used a soft edge grad, Velvia film and no fill. I only use digital now but had a good run with film back in the day…Sometimes Lucky I think…Sorry about the title…Cheers Bob
