The Painted Hills are located in Central Oregon, USA. This area is administered by the BLM. The nice thing about their management is their insistence that no one can walk on these delicate features. Any “footprints” you might see in my images of this area are from animals that frequent this natural terrain. Antelope and deer frequently are seen here. The colors and shapes of the landscape are very unique in my experience. There are a few short gravel roads and a few short hikes that put you into a position to do your observations and photographs…no long walking here. Although the Painted Hills are somewhat out of the way for travelers it is, in my opinion, an excellent location to see and to photograph.
