An Innocent Life
Knocked down by a passing car, this pigeon was lying in the road with people walking past without a second glance. In general, we have become so calous to the meaning of life, and through this image I hope to portray that!
HDR process used on three images. Made some adjustments to lighting and selective color. Had to clone a bit to fix up two people that were walking by.

I’ve taken pictures like this, I think you sort of imortialize their shorten life. It is sad though.

I hate this…it breaks my heart, but it needs to be told. I have accidentally hit a squirrel and once a bird flew into my car. I felt their pain and stopped and picked them up and took care that they were not left in the road as garbage. Beautiful photography, sad image. xxxx

A powerful and poignant image – very touching.

Wow…this is DEEP. Amazing…only you could take this and make it look so ‘touching’ and ‘thought provoking’. GREAT shot. All is well with me…just back from being away for most of July: Cambridge,England; Paris & Stockholm to Copenhagen cruise that included St. Petersburg…so it’s good to be home, my friend. :) Lots of pics to edit. LOL

So sad, but so true. My dog attacked a baby opossum before and my foster parents kept telling me to let it go outside, but I took care of it for a day before I was forced to let it go.
I can’t imagine how horrible it’d be to get hit by a car, especially with how small the pigeon is :/
Great shot and a great message.

I’m so grateful, Bobby, that there are people like you who DO care, and care to the point of letting the rest of us be reminded of the preciousness of life. Thank you. – Pat

Tragic an powerful because of the proximity. Great and moving shot.

that is so heart wrenching and right down at the birds level, very powerful message, and MORE impacting that it is a common species too. We can see that it has only just died not long prior to picture. The head tucked under and eye closed is so moving. Thanks for sharing.

Very emotive, this is the power of our art
