This year, 19th January is Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Read his infamous speech in it’s entirety

I am neither black, nor american, nor downtrodden or disadvantaged in most senses of the word, though reading into the subject in preparation for the coming holiday, I went with something simple on the basis that no matter how fancy I tried to make this, it could not stand up to the image of the great man himself. So a couple of hours in Illustrator later, here it is.

I hope some of the people viewing this image take the time to read his speech, I believe in many ways it’s as pertinent today as it was in the summer of 1963, be it for the colour of your skin, or for the choices and situations we all face in life.
