Artist's Description

It’s a time much closer to infinity, humans long ago overran planet Earth and as they destroyed the natural environment on Earth they developed the means to live in a completely artificial environment. As their numbers grew they looked to neighbouring planets to colonize. They spread across the smaller planets of the Galaxy but the outer, larger planets eluded them until they developed the technology for the Galactic Sky-way, fondly known as The Infinity Sky-way because of it’s shape. The Galactic Sky-way enabled safe passage across the galaxy for the regular interplanetary shuttle service. Unfortunately in the rush to colonize the galaxy they adhered to their ancient familiar architecture and so built huge cities covering every planet they could reach. Pluto was established as the Galactic penal colony being unreachable by the sky-way, rumour has it that no one makes it to Pluto alive and certainly no one has ever returned.

Many thanks to the NASA Planetary Photojournal for the images, I’m not sure that NASA meant for artistic license to extend quite as far as I’ve taken it but oh well.
