I went over to my Grandma’s house a week prior to this shot and saw this same bird there. However, I didn’t have my camera with me. I told myself that next time we went over, I would take my camera, just incase. Well, “just incase” paid off, and I happily snapped away about 85 frames of this guy as well as a much younger one.
If anyone can give me more information about this bird, that would be awesome!
I love shooting wildlife, but to me, a bird is a bird… I haven’t learned much about different species and how to ID birds, etc… Guess I need to get one of those bird watching guides and start learning!!
This shot was taken in Thornton, Colorado, USA, in my Grandma’s backyard.
It was capture with a Canon 5D Mk II and a Canon EF 400mm F/5.6L lens.
This is as shot, straight from the camera.

You got a beautiful crisp picture, Jonathan. Your grandmother probably feeds all the birds around there, just like me. ☺
Thank you Lori!
She sets the bird seed out and they come around!
Thank you for the favorite as well!!
