Last night we had some really cool clouds. The sun was just about gone, and the clouds were gray with thunder. The last light was shining on the tops of these fast moving clouds so I knew I had to get some shots. Tried some regular shots first, and then I realized I needed to do an HDR of them. I hope I did them justice.

Shot was taken in my backyard in Broomfield, CO.

Taken with a Canon 5D MkII and Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS

This is a 3 bracketed image (-2, 0, +2) imported into Lightroom and then processed in Photomatix before being brought back into Lightroom for some sharpening.

It has been very stormy here in the Springs. I want to go to the zoo, if only the weather will let me. A beautiful shot.

  • Thanks Lori. It’s been off and on stormy up here. Today we had a MEGA gully washer. 45 degree rain coming down in sheets, wipers on full power type of rain. It was really nice. Just try to get to the zoo early before that almighty sun comes out and forces all the animals back inside! Haha

Terrific with fabulous colors. It is hard to believe that those clouds are just water vapor.

  • Thank you, Betty! It is hard to believe! Thanks for the favorite and comment!
