Teton Barn

The now famous Moultan Barn at the base of the Teton Mountains in fall color. This was the first time we had made the effort to see this barn and the light couldn’t have been better for the fall colors.

This is a great shot, Bob. :-)
I love the contrast of light and dark. The balance of a lawn, then the structure w/trees and finally the purple mountains with clouds. Even the clouds are cooperating in that they are light just over the darkness of the tallest moutain peak. Even the early day sun/angle effects the barn and the few trees in a way that noon would have lost entirely.
Bob, you could barely have composed this any better if you could tell them all where to stand and what to look like. My hats off to you~ well, it’s off anyway, I’m inside, but you get the idea, lol.

I see you’re in Boise.
I was in Boise once, 30 years ago, as a hippie in a VW Camper on my way to Alaska.
Almost died coming down the back side of the cont. divide in the snow~ going 10 mph till I came into your town @ the bottom.
I was very glad to see Boise! ,lol.

Hi buddykfa,

I live in Boise and do a lot of seasonal travelling to the Tetons and Yellowstone. I like to hit them in the early spring, fall and winter months. I’ve been to Alaska once and l am anxious to go back. There’s just so much to see there. I pity you for your trip through Boise though. ;) The land of sage brush I call it.

You nailed it with this one, Bob. This is one of the best shots of the infamous Moulton barn I have ever seen. Impressive work! I wanted to get this shot in January but it required a snowmobile and snowshoes. The temps hovered at zero so I was NOT up for that…
