My interest in painting began when my mother suggested that we go on an art course which was being run by Avril Brand. Neither of us had picked up a paint brush before and, of course, were quite sceptical about what we could do.
After one day on her art course, we both went home with oil paintings on canvasses, much to our amazement and we are very proud of our achievements.
And so, our love of oil painting began. Since then, I have attended more oil painting courses with Avril and I will very soon be able to show my first paintings.
I never realised just how wonderful it is to be able to paint and how therapeutic it is to escape into a world where time stands still.
I was born in London to Irish parents and that is also where I met my long suffering husband. We moved to Ireland, County Clare three years ago and haven’t looked back. I enjoy the countryside (far from the madding crowd) and I have an endless amount of beautiful scenery to paint.
