Big Rideau Lake, Ontario, Canada

Common Loon with large fish. A loon can only swallow a fish this size if it can get it positioned head first to go down the gullet. This allows the spiked dorsal fin to slide down easily. Sounds easy however this procedure of getting the fish lined up perfectly can take up to five minutes so lots of time to get some great shots.

fantastic Bill. I love Loons, one of my favorites. This is great with the bonus of the fish. Love the stopped water drops too.
