127 - BASS ROCK & TANTALLON CASTLE (D.E. 2010) by

Here’s another photo of Tantallon Castle that shows the remarkable Bass Rock. I saw Bass Rock from a coach window enroute to Edinburgh once and vowed to get a closer look one day.

Bass Rock is off the east coast of Scotland.

I used a Canon A550 compact camera.

My real name is Dafydd (Dave) and I am retired for health reasons and take charge of the housework while my wife is at work. I have many interests, including genealogy, poetry, writing, art, art study, local history, photography (I’ve no expensive equipment though – just a love for clicking) etc.

Looks like there is a little white castle on Bass rock – and there is something about the isolation of that rick in the middle of the coast that makes it seem kind of heavenly – like an isolated spot to meditate ~ (I’ve seen ‘heavenly gates’ in Japan situation on isolated lands/rocks)

  • It’s difficult to see from a distance, but it is actually a lighthouse. “Heavenly” is exactly how I felt about it when I saw it. Are you a mind reader? :-)
