122 - TANTALLON CASTLE (D.E. 2010) by

As a tribute to my Redbubble friend Tom Gomez I am uploading four photos I took of the east coast of Scotland.

Here’s the first one – the amazingly atmospheric Tantallon Castle. I’d never heard of it (well, I am a Sassenach I suppose) so imagine my delight when I was driving along towards North Berwick and this fantastic castle came into my view. I did a sharp right turn into the car park and spent one of the happiest hours I have had for a long time.

I used a Canon A550 compact camera.

My real name is Dafydd (Dave) and I am retired for health reasons and take charge of the housework while my wife is at work. I have many interests, including genealogy, poetry, writing, art, art study, local history, photography (I’ve no expensive equipment though – just a love for clicking) etc.

Love how you got the grey wall framing the vibrant coloured view – which itself is a neat simple composition :)

  • Thanks … it’s an old trick but often effective.

Excellent composition Dave, Tantallon is a great castle and the view of the Bass Rock from the top is wonderful …

  • Thanks. I hope to go back there one day.
