I am very enthusiastic about genealogy and on discovering that my 3xGreat Grandparents lived in Newburn, Newcastle Upon Tyne (England) I set off on the bus to see if there was anything remaining from the days when they lived there (late 1700s). To my delight I found a 12th Century church … the one they’d been married in as it happens.
This carving of Jesus is on the lych gate leading into the churchyard.
I used my Samsung WB700 compact camera.
