I have now added this article to my Writings where I hope to reach some extra readers.
Recently, many members of Redbubble have started using the copy-protection facility provided by Redbubble, so I am unable to add illustrations when this happens … just thought I’d mention, in case anyone was hurt that I’d left them out.
There are some absolutely wonderful coloured pencil artists on Redbubble. I have only found a small number of them, but I’m sure there are many more out there and I would really appreciate it if anyone could name some more for me please. If you are a coloured pencil artist I haven’t discoverd yet, please make yourself known to me and I will try to include you here.
One of the main reasons I joined Redbubble was because I saw the coloured pencil art of Penny Edwardes

Many artists still see coloured pencils as a stepping stone towards painting. Other more adventurous ones are moving from paints to coloured pencils, or using them for inclusion in mixed media paintings. Many artists, such as dawndavies, do occasional coloured pencil drawings to add to their portfolios. I’m starting to get hooked myself.
If anyone knows of any other coloured pencil artists, I’d love to see their work please.

Thank you for the mention Dave, I certainly don’t look down my nose at coloured pencils they are a wonderfully expressive medium to use as everyone can see by the images you have listed. I don’t know about you but the more I use them the more amazed I am by the effects they produce.

It has had 4,621 viewings and I thought that by adding it to my Writings I might be able to further publicise coloured pencil drawing.
I am currently experimenting with all sorts of mediums, but coloured pencils remain close to my heart.

Yes Dave my Daintree Magic was done with Faber Castell pencils but also the hard chalk pastels…I have done a few pastels now. :-D

amazing work..I can’t beleive this is all done in coloured pencils..so fabulous..and I reckon a very hard tool to use with such creativity like that I find coloured pencils very difficult to work with ..well done and congratulations to all these artists ..magnificent work..!

So nice to be included with Simon’s portrait, although I feel a bit of a cheat in that it’s mostly pastel (do pastel pencils count?) and perhaps ten percent coloured pencils. Good to see the promotion for the media Dave.

I usually only include coloured pencils and Alexandra uses watercolour pencils, but as I have always liked Alexandra’s work anyway, I have added her – thanks for pointing that out.

Fantastic selection of colouring pencil art from a wonderful selection of RB artists. And of course you are indeed one of the masters of the colouring pencil medium yourself. I think it’s a wonderful medium and the colours available are so superb. Actually, looking at your work since I joined RB inspired me to buy a gorgeous set of 60 Polychromos colouring pencils. But you know me Dave, I’m very slow to get working on something new. So you may have a long wait before you see something done in colouring pencil. I think as far as I’ll get with the colouring pencils for a while is to take a photo of my lovely new set and post it up here. I just love looking at them though. Such gorgeous colours. ....Maybe you should start up a new group yourself here on RB called ‘Colouring Pencil Art’ or something similar. Keep up the great work. Cheers, Orla :)

There is already a coloured pencil art group and i joined. Ooh – you are posh – Polychromos pencils :) I use WH Smith’s own brand. I opriginally bought a selection at £1.25 each, but started to like the Smiths ones and they are very cheap.
