375 - BETHLEHEM CHAPEL, RHOSLLANERCHRUGOG - DAVE EDWARDS - COLOURED PENCILS - 2013 by

This is a stylised view of Bethlehem Chapel in Hall Street, Rhosllanerchrugog, North Wales. My grandfather was born in a house to the right (off picture) in 1898. I used coloured pencils.

Very nice Dave; very funky. Love the colours and the bits of distortion further emphasized by the sky.

  • Thanks Mui-Ling; I knew you’d comment … wonder if anyone else does. I drew this from a photo I took last time I visited my relatives in Wales. I did a pen and ink drawing recently and a stylised one in colour and the stylised one got featured in three groups, but the pen and ink didn’t get featured at all … I think people prefer colourful pictures, which is fine as i do both types. You are the only one to comment on this so far – in days gone by it would have had at least five comments by this time. I get more attention on Facebook …

This is fabulous… love the slightly distorted look of the chapel, and the colors are out of this world wonderful. I really like how you did the sky and clouds…. very stylized. excellent, my friend!

  • Thanks Barbara. This drawing evolved while i was drawing it. sometimes I have a plan but not in this instance.

lovely bright colourful drawing Dave…the orange is very welcoming and love those clouds….I notice comments have declined a lot these days as to when I first joined…sign of the times? hard to keep up or just people did not like the change and have left? ….

  • Thanks Linda – I get more attention on Facebook now, but I still upload here..

    Excellent, as always, Dave !!!
Can you pronounce that word, or just spell it ?

  • Thanks George. Yes, I can pronounce it. My grandfather was born in a house to the right of the chapel.
