I listened to quite a lot of CDs during the making of this psychedelic picture :-)
I used coloured pencils, fineliners and a black Sharpie pen.

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.
dave,,this is, from another world,,which the way this one is going,,this might be the right place to go?the big bang by David, world maker extroversion ,plus
Thanks Walt – I spent ages on this one – it’s a great excuse to be listening to my CD collection :-)
beside a lovely flower design Dave I see a shape of a CD bursting with colour and can hear music…wonderful pencil and pen work..
Just a few minutes ago I was asking Lynda Robinson how you were keeping, so it’s lovely to hear from you. We really must have a catch-up chat when you have time. Thanks for your comment – much appreciated.
Oh yes – as for CDs … maybe my subconscious mind was thinking of CDs as I have been listening to LOTS of music while drawing this – everything from Pink Floyd to Lena Horne :-)
This must have been a real time consumer Dave! What a great result. It looks like a daisy from the sixties! I can imagine what sort of music inspired this. AND……What a small and coincidental world it is!!! I see you have a comment from Linda with an ‘i’!!!!
Thanks Lynda. Psychedelia must have inflitrated my subconscious mind I guess :-) Yes – nice to hear from Linda again.
This is outstanding Dave. I love the colors and patterns in this.
Excellent, reminds me of a sunflower
Thanks Byron. It was based on a photo of a dahlia, but after I stylised it, it resembled a sunflower :-) Most of my artwork is based on things and then deliberately altered a lot.
…well, i love how you alter objects.the rich colors are marvelous.
Thanks ever so; I love it when someone appreciates my efforts. I am teaching myself about blending coloured pencils together to create richer colours than the actual single pencils produce.
Love it !! The design really pops x
Thanks very much Anita.
Very nice DAve. Always known colours and shapes are strong elements in your work; but I also love how you added shading in various parts to suggest some depths; how the elements of this image are layered – and it is quite neat; I mean usually we may conceive a flower over the background – simple as that – but the way you drew those green squiggles that continue from one petal to the other – the petals are like a window frame.
Many thanks for your observant comment Mui-Ling.
if i saw a flower like this, i would have to pick it… what a great story your artwork tells…. LOVE IT!!
Thanks Barb :-)
Whoa! I feel like I’m going on an acid trip David! Love!!! : )
Glad you like it – I enjoyed doing this one.
