FEATURED BY COLOURED PENCIL ART ROUP – 25th April 2011

I once had a delightful budgie called Cheeky. He would fly round the room and land on my finger. Sadly, he died in 1979, but this is a drawing I did of him from a photograph in 1985.

About BLYTHART

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.

Aw what a cutie!! I had a budgie too. He would lie down on his belly like he was dead. I actually think it was a goose :)

Good drawing, Dave. Great how you drew the beautiful rhythm of the feathers. The background brings tranquillity into the image.

hi i’m bk after a few days and found this cute little budgie to dote on, i loe it! ur line is creatively linear, i love it all

  • I adored that little bird and when I bought my own house I took him with me for company (this was before my wife to be joined me) . One day, I got up at five to go to work and there he was … feet up on the floor of the cage … I buried him at sea (well, the River Blyth) and still miss him …. (at this stage Dave sobs uncontrollably and fuses mouse with his tears, thus breaking off communication with the rest of the world).
