THIS IS NOT A NEW DRAWING
FEATURED BY ART AND INK SO FREE GROUP – 1st May 2011
This is fourteen years old, but I am building up a collection on Redbubble of ink drawings, so I dug this one from my older work to upload.
I am Christian, although not Roman Catholic, but I pass this grotto a few times each week and I love the sense of hope that it imparts, as Bernadette kneels in front of the vision of Jesus’ mother Mary.
The Grotto stands in the grounds of St. Wilfrid’s R.C. Church, Waterloo Road, Blyth, Northumberland.
The grotto was built at the suggestion of my friend the late Bobby Wheaton, a dedicated member of the church and a regular visitor to Lourdes.
