This is number VII in my series of ten abstracts inspired by string art.
I sometimes chat about art with Linmarie of Redbubble and she suggested I try doing string art. I read her instructions on string art and decided to try the acrylic paint method.
For this particular picture, here was the result of my string-art and paint session:
For me the exciting (and I genuinely mean “exciting”) part is trying to see identifiable shapes in the paint mass. I saw a vague lizard-like image and slightly emphasised it, then added lizards and set to work shading, etc.

I used acrylic for the string-art beginning and then fineliners and a Rotring Isograph ink pen for the rest.
My 23-year old son says this is “cool.” I couldn’t ask for a better comment than that :)
