316 - ST. CUTHBERT (detail) - DAVE EDWARDS - COLOURED PENCILS - 2011 by

FEATURED BY BEAUTIFUL NORTH OF ENGLAND GROUP – 9th February 2011

The original version of this received very little attention and I blamed that on the thumbnail, which obliterated St. Cuthbert from the picture.

I used coloured pencils by the way.

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.

    Nice work Dave …

  • Thanks. Maybe it might get noticed now I have altered the size. The larger version only got six favouritings.

Excellent as always Dave ! great tribute to a local hero. I like both versions !
your attention to detail is awesome

  • Thanks George. This is a cropped version of the original. I’m busy drawing a bear at the moment – in my own peculiar style of course :)

great unique style of yours Dave in both works of art..full of detail and precision..:)

  • There is actually only one St Cuthbert picture – this is a detail of it. Thanks for your comment and favouriting; I really appreciate that Linda.

    meant ‘versions’ of art…:)

  • It’s getting more attention than the original one did, because it is visible in the thumbnail view.

Great comment Dave. The focus can’t be off to center or prepare for obliteration!!!! It is a cheerful piece, which is your style. Like it a lot. I’ll Fav both so we can see the comparisons side by side.

  • I try to obey the Rule of Thirds, but usually have the subject to the left. This time I placed it to the right. Many thanks for the favouritings.
