Another fantasy picture of flowers. This time in acrylic, outlined with fineliner pens.
Here is the original drawing from 1985 that I wasn’t too happy with, so I decided to copy the spiky plant and then just took it from there:

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.
Super work Dave …
Thanks Tom … you’re first off the starting block as usual :)
whim shy calll , n lovely to see, too nice nice light feeling, very gentle too
The spikey plant was part of an old drawing that I wasn’t too happy with, so I copied it and added other plants and stylised it all. Waste not want not :)
well done dave..wonderful colours and very architectural looking designs of the flowers..well done!
Thanks for picking up on the architectural aspect. When I was a teenager I wanted to take architectural drawing as one of my leaving certificate subjects, but was over-ruled in favour of engineering drawing, which I disliked (it was the only subject I failed). As you understand already, my art is personal and lots of things feature in it regularly; all products of my imagination. Even when I copy a photo it ends up being altered by my imagination usually. Thanks again for your valuable comment my friend.
This is wonderful Dave. Evokes memories of a french animation classic from the 1970s called “Fantastic Planet”. Brilliant Movie! :))
Thanks John. I love it when my paintings evoke other images in people’s minds. You have made an old man very happy :)
This looks like something out of Doctor Who!!! Very cool Dave.
Great job, Dave!! I also really love the older drawing!! Excellent work…both of them:)
Thanks. I rather like doing new versions of older work.
