119 - WHIRLPOOL - DAVE EDWARDS - INK - 1986 by

I admire the work of Riley and Vasarely. Here is an old drawing of mine aimed at producing a dizzy effect. It was difficult to draw because … I kept feeling dizzy :) I used a compass by the way.

I am a retired man who enjoys expressing himself in pencils and paints. I have had two solo exhibitions in my home town and I love Redbubble. I get as much pleasure from viewing the works of other artists as from creating my own.

How did you get those whirls so perfect? Did you have something to draw around? Very hypnotic this one Dave.

  • I used a compass. I thought I’d mentioned that. I’ve added it to the description … I wasn’t trying to deceive anyone :)

Can you tell I’ve run out of subject matter and am desperately searching for inspiration? So it’s a choice between digging out my 45 year old compass, or having a stab at your old friend Leonard Cohen. I’m picking your brain aren’t I?

  • If you are picking my brain you will need some very small tweezers.

I don’t want you to stab Leonard Cohen, but it would be rather nice if you did a drawing of him :P

I shall exercise tact and diplomacy by saying that as you are so young, the 45-years-old compass must have belonged to your great grandfather :)
